NEW MISSION PRESIDENT
As announced by the church this past week, the Panama Mission will be getting a new Mission President on July 1, 2016. The new mission president is going to be William Current, who will serve with his wife, Susan. We had a Skype conversation with them and can tell that they will do a wonderful job building up the kingdom here in Panama. Pres. Current was just released as Stake President of the Coral Gables Florida Stake. He served a Spanish-speaking mission to Canada. His wife served a mission in Mexico, so she already knows Spanish. We are already praying for them as they prepare for this important assignment in the best mission in the world! I will put a photo of them on the blog as soon as one appears in the Church News.

TRANSFERS
We welcomed 16 new missionaries to the mission this past week and said goodbye to 3 great missionaries.

Departing missionaries that we will miss so much! Thank you so much for your service here. We wish you all the best.

DEPARTING MISSIONARIES
We had three great elders finish their service this week that had to get home for college entrance exams. Thank you so much for your service in the mission.

MISSION MAILING ADDRESS
Contrary to popular rumor, the mission mailing address has not changed. Please send your packages and letters from the US via USPS to the following address:
Name of missionary
Mision Panama
AP 0834-02798
Panama
Republica de Panama

As a reminder, you cannot mail medications to Panama and if you send food items, they may or may not make it through customs. Also, Panama does not have a mail delivery system. All mail and packages must be picked up at the post office and it can take weeks or months for mail to clear customs and get to your missionary.

MISSION LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
The church just built a new stake center in downtown Panama City, which also houses the new mission office. We had our first missionary meeting there this week, which was our mission leadership council.

The new building

The new building is right across the street from one of the synagogues in Panama City.
